Before You Start
You need a Zappiq account and your embed script. Sign up here if you haven't yet. You also need a Squarespace Business plan or higher — Code Injection is not available on the Personal plan.
Works with all Squarespace templates — including all 7.0 and 7.1 templates. Also works with Squarespace Commerce (Basic and Advanced).
Step-by-Step Installation
Open your Squarespace Dashboard
Log in at squarespace.com and go to your site's Home Menu — this is the main editing panel on the left side of the screen.
Go to Website Tools
Click on Website in the left panel, then scroll down and click Website Tools.
Open Code Injection
Click on Code Injection. You'll see four text fields: Header, Footer, Lock Page, and Order Confirmation Page.
Paste your script in the Footer field
Click inside the Footer field and paste your Zappiq embed script. Do not paste it in the Header field — the Footer field ensures the script loads after your page content.

Click the Save button. The script is now injected into the footer of every page on your Squarespace site. Your Zappiq chatbot is live.
Verify It's Working
Open your Squarespace website in a new tab or incognito window. You should see the Zappiq chat widget appear within a few seconds. Click it to confirm it works correctly.
Make sure you're viewing your live site URL, not the Squarespace editor preview. The widget may not appear inside the Squarespace editing interface — that's normal.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Code Injection require a Business plan?
Yes. Squarespace's Code Injection feature is only available on Business, Commerce Basic, and Commerce Advanced plans. It's not available on the Personal plan.
Can I add it to specific pages only?
Yes. Squarespace also has per-page code injection. In the Pages panel, click the gear icon next to any page, then go to the Advanced tab to find a page-specific Footer code field.
Does it work with Squarespace Commerce?
Yes — including product pages and category pages. On checkout pages Squarespace has more restrictions, but the widget appears on all standard store pages.
Will it interfere with Squarespace's built-in chat or announcement bar?
No. Zappiq runs independently and doesn't conflict with any native Squarespace features.
